Subbu Antiques

Subbu Antiques is tucked away in B-2 of the Anmol Apartment. You can find us on Gopalasamy Koil Street. It is a bit of a different setup because we are in an apartment building, not a shopfront on the main road. Because of that, it stays a bit quieter, which is nice when you are looking at old things. We have all kinds of items piled up. Some are dusty, and some have been sitting there for years. We like the history of the objects we find. Gopalasamy Koil Street is a familiar place for us. We spend a lot of time cleaning things up or just moving furniture around to make more space. It is getting a bit crowded in here lately. People come by to see what we’ve picked up from different places. We don't have a glossy catalog or anything like that. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come and look through the rooms. The lighting isn't always the best, but it adds to the feel of the place. We aren't trying to be a museum. We just have a lot of old stuff that we’ve collected over time. Sometimes we find something really interesting in a corner we forgot about. That is the fun part of being in this business. It is a lot of lifting and shifting heavy wood and metal, but we are used to it by now and the neighbors don't mind too much.
