Giftsin

Giftsin is tucked away on 7th Street, right off Crosscut Road in Gandhipuram. This part of Gandhipuram is always moving. We have a lot of items crammed into our small space. It's mostly things people buy for birthdays or weddings. We started this because we liked the area. Crosscut Road is where everyone goes to shop, so it made sense. The shop is a bit narrow. We have shelves going all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it's hard to reach the top ones without a ladder. We spend our days chatting with people who come in. Most of them live nearby. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just put out a sign and hope for the best. The rent around here isn't cheap, but we manage. It gets quite hot in the summer months. We usually have the radio playing in the background to pass the time. It’s just a regular local shop. We try to keep a variety of things so there's something for everyone. Sometimes we run out of wrapping paper and have to run out to get more. It's just a normal day for us. My nephew helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit busier. We keep a notebook to write down what people are asking for. That way we know what to buy next time. It isn't very high-tech but it gets the job done for us.
