Fine Fabrics

Fine Fabrics is tucked away at 122 KM Street, right behind the Poomarket. If you have ever been to this area, you know how crowded it gets with all the stalls and people moving about. Our shop is full of rolls of different fabrics piled up from the floor to the ceiling. It can be hard to walk through the aisles sometimes because we have so much stock shoved into the corners. We spend a lot of our time measuring out lengths of cloth and cutting them for people who stop by. The air is always a bit full of lint, and we have to sweep the floor several times a day to keep it clean. We don't have any fancy displays, just the fabric itself. People come in looking for specific colors or textures, and we usually know exactly which pile to dig into to find it. It is a bit of a workout moving those heavy rolls around all day. We have a small desk where we keep the scissors and the measuring tape. Behind the counter, there are some old shelves for the smaller scraps. We don't use a computer for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in a big paper diary with a blue cover. It is a simple way of doing things, and it has worked for us for years. The noise from the market outside is always there.
