Feather Imports Exports is based out of No. 1/9 Mariyamman Kovil Street in Pattanampudur. It’s a bit out of the main city rush, which is good for moving goods around. We deal with a lot of logistics, shipping, and receiving. There are always crates or boxes being moved. The office is right there with the storage, so it’s never really quiet. You’ll hear the sound of tape dispensers and trucks idling outside. We’ve been on Mariyamman Kovil Street for quite some time. It’s a local operation, and we know our neighbors well. We don't have a shiny lobby. It’s a working warehouse environment. We spend a lot of time checking lists and making sure things are labeled right. If something gets lost, it’s on us, so we stay sharp. Sometimes the paperwork for customs is a real headache, but we just push through it. We aren't some massive multinational with thousands of employees. It’s a small crew here. We all wear multiple hats. One minute you're on the phone with a supplier, the next you're helping load a pallet. It’s a hands-on kind of job. We just keep things moving in and out of Pattanampudur every day. That’s the life of trade, and we’re used to the pace by now. The tea stall down the street knows our order by heart because we go there so often. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy and out of trouble. We just take it one shipment at a time and hope the rain stays away when we’re loading.
