At Export Documentation Incharge, A.K. Venkatesan runs things here at Sf.No.229/2B&C on Palladam Road in Arulpuram, Tirupur. This is where we handle all the export documentation that comes our way. Our office isn't much to look at from the outside, just a regular place on a busy road. Inside, it’s mostly stacks of paper and people typing away. Documentation is a lot of work because if one letter is wrong, everything gets stuck. So, we spend a lot of time double-checking things. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small team of us who know the rules and how to get things filed. We’ve been at this for a while, so we’ve seen all the changes in the laws and the forms. The fans are always humming because it gets warm, and the sound of the traffic on Palladam Road never really stops. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon slump. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the papers are right so the goods can move. It’s a practical job that requires a lot of patience. We just take it one folder at a time and try not to make mistakes. It’s how we keep the lights on and help folks get their shipments out.
