We are located at 126, Race Course. It’s a decent area and we’ve been operating Essig Ramraj Moling Co. from this spot for a good while. Moling isn't something everyone understands right away, but it’s what we do day in and day out. We have a lot of equipment that needs constant upkeep, so there’s always someone in the back tinkering with a machine or cleaning parts. The office part of the building is pretty basic. We have a few desks, a phone that rings more than it should, and a lot of maps on the wall showing where our current jobs are. It gets a bit cramped when the whole crew is in at the same time. We aren't the type of people to sit around in meetings all day. Usually, we are out at a site or loading up the trucks. The floor is usually a bit dirty because of the boots coming in and out, but that’s just part of the trade. We know the neighbors pretty well, and sometimes we stop to chat on the sidewalk. We don't spend money on big advertisements or flashy signs. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years or saw us working on a nearby street. It’s a practical business. We show up, do the drilling or the moling, and then head back here to get ready for the next day. It is simple work but it keeps us busy.
