Dtp Operator

I work as a Dtp Operator over at 350, T.N.H.B in Singanallur, Coimbatore. It’s basically a small shop where I handle desktop publishing for anyone who walks in. The address is easy to find if you’re familiar with the Singanallur area. I spend most of my time sitting at the computer, setting up layouts for pamphlets, wedding cards, and local notices. There’s always the sound of the printer hum in the background. It gets pretty busy before the festival seasons when everyone wants things printed at the same time. I have a few different fonts and programs I use, and I try to make things look clear and readable. The shop isn't very big, just enough room for the machine and a counter where people can check their proofs. Sometimes customers come in with sketches on a piece of paper and I have to turn that into a digital file. It’s a lot of clicking and checking for typos. I keep a stack of different paper weights and colors in the cupboard. Sometimes I run out of ink right in the middle of a job, which is a bit of a headache. It’s just me here most of the time, so I handle the designing and the printing myself. It’s a steady job and I like being in this part of Coimbatore. It’s a practical little business. I keep a few spare ink cartridges on the shelf so I don't get stuck too often during a busy day.
