We are located in the I.D.C. Building on Court Street, just off Kumaran Road. Our specific spot is No. 18 on the 2nd Street level. Consolidated Shipping Line (I) Pvt. Ltd. has been here for a while now. The building is older, but it’s sturdy and keeps us dry when it rains. Working in shipping means we are always looking at schedules and tracking where things are across the world. It’s a lot of coordination. The office is usually filled with the sound of printers going and people talking on their phones. We have maps and charts on the walls to keep track of things. It’s a bit of a maze in here sometimes with all the boxes of records we keep for our files. We don’t have fancy furniture, just the stuff that works. The neighborhood is pretty active with other businesses nearby, so there’s always someone to talk to outside. We usually have a bit of a tea break in the afternoon to stay sharp. It’s not a huge office, but it’s enough for the team we have here. Sometimes we have to stay late when a shipment is delayed or there’s a problem to solve on the other side of the clock. We don’t mind it much because that’s just the nature of the work. It feels like a real community in this building. We know the neighbors and the people who deliver the mail every day.
