Castle Clothing Co.

Castle Clothing Co. is out in Palladam, specifically at No. 2/ 984 B on South 5th Street in Mahalakshmi Nagar. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the main city, but there’s always something going on with the textile work around here. Our building isn't anything special to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of machines and a lot of fabric everywhere you look. We have a small crew of people from the local area who have been with us for years. The sun can get really hot in Palladam, so we try to keep the windows open to get whatever breeze we can. Sometimes the dust from the street comes in too, but that’s just part of being here. We don’t have any big slogans or missions. We just show up in the morning, drink some tea, and start the machines. It’s a very manual process and there’s a lot of physical work involved in moving the heavy rolls of cloth. The neighborhood is mostly other small businesses and houses, so everyone knows each others' names. We keep things pretty informal. If someone needs to take a break, they do. We just make sure that by the end of the week, the work is done and ready to be moved out. It’s a steady pace of life at Mahalakshmi Nagar for us. We just keep our focus on the daily tasks and getting things finished.
