Brindha Gosaalai Foundation

The Brindha Gosaalai Foundation is located in Kattalankulam, which is in the Thoothukkudi district. Specifically, we are at 2/192/8/1 on Theri Mariamman Kovil Street. Tuticorin can get very hot, especially during the middle of the year, but we have a good spot here. Our work is centered around the gosaalai, where we take care of cows. It’s a lot of physical work. We have to feed them, clean the area, and make sure they are healthy. It’s not a job for someone who doesn't like to get their hands dirty. We have a small office attached to the main area where we keep our records. You can hear the sounds of the animals all day while we work. The street is named after the temple, so it's a place people know well. We don't have fancy equipment. We use what we have and make it work. Most of us are from the local area, so we know the community here in Kattalankulam. We spend our days managing the feed and checking on the health of the cattle. It’s a practical life. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the time we are outside. It’s a bit dusty and loud sometimes, but we are used to it by now. We just do what needs to be done.
