Working at Fun Republic on Avinashi Road is pretty interesting. We are on the first floor, shops 6 and 7. Being in Peelamedu means it stays busy, especially on weekends when families come to the mall. It’s a bit different from a standalone street shop. You have the air conditioning and the mall music playing all the time. Sometimes it’s nice, sometimes you want a bit of quiet. Our spot is right near the main path so people walk by all the time. Some just peek in while others spend an hour looking at things. We mostly just keep the racks organized. It’s a lot of folding and re-folding because things get messy fast. Avinashi Road always has traffic, so getting to work can be a hassle if you don't time it right. Peelamedu is a good area though. Lots of college kids and office folks stop by after their day is done. We’ve been here a while and know the other shopkeepers around. It’s a small world inside the mall. Usually, we are just chatting amongst ourselves when it's slow. When the movies let out, that's when we really have to move. It’s a steady routine. Nothing too complicated, just a normal day at the shop in Fun Republic. The mall staff are okay and the food court is close by, so that's a plus for lunch. We try to keep things looking decent for the shoppers.
