Our place is located at No.32 in the Vallalar area, near Hamsaveni in Jothipuram. It’s on the outskirts of Coimbatore, so it’s not as crowded as the main city areas. We handle chits and funds for the people living in Jothipuram and the nearby streets. The office is a simple room where we keep our files and meet with the local residents. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It is just a small group of us who handle everything from the daily collections to the monthly auctions. We like it this way because we can actually talk to everyone who walks through the door. Usually, there’s a bit of a wait if a few people show up at once, but nobody seems to mind. We use old-fashioned ledgers mostly, alongside the computer, because we like having things on paper too. Jothipuram is a nice place to work and we have gotten to know the families around here pretty well. We don't use any complicated financial jargon. If someone wants to know how a chit works, we just sit down and explain it in plain Tamil or English. It’s about being helpful to the people who trust us with their savings. There’s no big sign or flashing lights outside, just our door where folks know they can find us. We just keep our heads down and do the work honestly every day.
