Down here in Coimbatore, things stay pretty busy at our place on V.K. Road. We are located at number 20 in Shiva Sakthi Nagar. It’s an area where you hear a lot of noise from the shops and traffic nearby. Our workshop is where most of the action happens. We work with various instruments and technical stuff every day. The air is often thick with the smell of metal and grease. Our team is mostly local guys who have been with us for a good bit of time. We start early to beat the worst of the Tamil Nadu heat, though by noon it usually catches up to us anyway. The office part of the building is small and mostly filled with files and old ledgers. We don't spend much on decorations. People stop by to drop things off or pick up orders throughout the afternoon. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit, which is just how things go around here. We talk about the cricket scores while we work. It’s a straightforward environment. No one wears a suit or anything like that. We just wear what is comfortable for the job. Dealing with measurements and tools takes up most of our headspace. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. It’s a familiar routine for all of us. We just try to get the orders out on time and keep the machines running.
