Ampell Microsystem

We are set up at No.32 in Sashasanmugam Puram, which is part of the R.S. Puram area. It’s a decent neighborhood to work in, though it gets quite crowded around lunchtime. Ampell Microsystem is what we call the business. We work on small electronics and micro-scale components. You need a steady hand and some good magnifying glasses for what we do. Our benches are covered in soldering irons and tiny screws that are easy to lose if you aren't careful. We started out in a much smaller room but moved here to have a bit more space for the equipment. It’s still not a huge place, but it works for us. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to do a good job on the boards that come across our desk. Sometimes a customer brings in something that’s been through a lot, and we have to tell them it’s beyond saving. That’s the hard part of the job. But mostly, we can get things back in working order. We have a few regulars who come in just to chat about new gadgets or to see what we are working on. We don't mind the company as long as they don't bump the table while we are soldering. The lighting in here is very bright because we need to see every little detail. It’s a quiet, focused kind of place that keeps us busy from morning till evening.
