Arun Wood Works

The shop is located right at Sivasamy Saw Mill in Alandurai. If you come by Arun Wood Works, you’ll definitely smell the sawdust before you even see us. It’s a messy place, to be honest, with wood shavings all over the floor and stacks of timber waiting to be cut. We spend most of our hours around the machinery, so it gets pretty loud during the day. Working with wood is what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it at this Alandurai location for quite a bit. It’s not a clean or quiet job, but it’s honest work. The saw mill area is always active, and we are just one part of that local ecosystem. We don’t have any fancy showroom with lights and glass. Most of the time, we are just covered in dust and trying to get the measurements right for whatever we are building. The weather affects us a lot because the humidity changes how the wood behaves, so we have to watch out for that. We just take things one piece at a time. It’s a small operation, and we don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to finish the work on the bench and move on to the next pile of wood. Sometimes we run out of materials and have to wait for the next truck, but that’s just how it goes at a saw mill in a place like this most weeks.
