Accountant Shanthi R

Our place is tucked away at 10/33C on 5th Cross in Chinthamani Nagar. It is part of Saibaba Colony, which is usually a pretty lively area. Shanthi R has been working from this office for a long time now. If you walk in, you will see rows of green and blue folders lined up on the wooden shelves. There is always a stack of documents waiting on the main desk. We usually start the day early before the sun gets too hot. Most of the work involves looking at ledgers and entering data into the computer. It is not the kind of job that has much excitement but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. People from the neighborhood drop by to talk about their taxes or just to hand over their salary slips. We have a small fan that hums in the corner and sometimes the neighbors' kids play loudly outside. It is a simple setup with a couple of computers and a very old calculator that still works fine. We don't really do big meetings. Usually, it is just one person sitting across the desk talking about their business expenses. Dealing with the government portals can be a headache sometimes when they slow down. But we just wait and try again until the filing is done. It is just the daily routine here in Coimbatore.
