We have been over here at Anns Estate for quite a while now. A. R. Moulds & Dies India Pvt Ltd is just the name on the gate, but inside it is mostly about the noise of the machines and the smell of cut metal. Alamelumagapuram Ganpathy is a busy spot. Most mornings start with a quick tea and then we get right to it. Dealing with moulds and dies is dusty work. It isn't pretty or fancy like those offices in the city center. We spend our time looking at drawings and making sure the measurements are right. Sometimes things go wrong, a tool breaks or the power cuts out, and we just have to figure it out as we go. It’s a lot of standing around benches and checking parts under the lights. The shop floor gets hot in the summer months but we keep the fans going. It’s just how we earn a living. People come by asking for specific shapes or fixes for their old machinery. We don't have a big front desk or a receptionist to greet you. You just walk in and talk to whoever is nearest the door. Most of us have been working with these tools for years so we know the quirks of the old presses. It is a simple setup really. Just some tools, some steel, and a lot of grease. That is how it goes here every day. No one is trying to be fancy.
