A. P. R. Auto Parts. You can find us at 28, Arundchala Counder Street in Manal Thottam. It’s a bit of a walk from the main part of Ganapathy but it’s a good spot. We’ve been selling auto parts here for quite some time now. The shop is small and the walls are covered in gaskets, fan belts, and all sorts of bits and pieces hanging on hooks. There’s a particular smell to the place—rubber and new metal and a bit of floor cleaner. We aren’t a big chain store. It’s mostly just us and a few helpers who know the inventory inside out. Usually, we are busy answering the phone or helping someone figure out why their engine is making a weird noise. We don’t always have every single part, but we usually know where to get it if we don't. The counter is old wood and has a lot of scratches from years of heavy parts being slid across it. We keep a ledger for the regulars who come in every week. It gets a bit hectic on Saturday mornings when everyone is trying to fix their cars at the same time. We don’t have much in the way of air conditioning, so the front door stays open to catch whatever breeze comes down the street. It’s a simple business. We sell parts, we talk shop, and we go home when the sun goes down.
