A. N. S. Jute Bags

We make jute bags here at Ukkadam. It is a busy spot right by the bus stand. Mostly we handle orders for people who want something other than plastic. It is just a small shop in Rme Tower. We started doing this because there is always a need for sturdy bags that do not fall apart after one use. It gets crowded around here with all the buses, but we have been at this bypass road location for a while now. My brother and I mostly run things ourselves. We have different sizes of bags piled up. Some people come in for just a few, others want a whole bunch for an event. It is dusty sometimes being so close to the road, but it is convenient for folks traveling. We just cut the fabric and sew them up. There is not much fancy about it. We use the space we have in the tower to keep the machines going. If you are looking for us, just look right across from where the buses pull in. We usually have some samples hanging out front so people know what we do. It is a straightforward business. We like working with jute because it is tough. Most days we are just busy with the sewing machines and talking to locals who drop by. It is what we know how to do and we stay busy from morning until evening.
