Alapatt Jewellers

If you walk down M G Rd, you’ll eventually see Alapatt Jewellers. We’ve been on this road for quite some time. It’s a busy stretch of pavement, and there’s always a lot of window shoppers passing by. Inside, it’s a bit quieter than the street, but it’s still a working shop. We have counters where we sit and talk to people about what they’re looking for. It’s not always about big sales; sometimes people just need a watch battery replaced or a chain fixed. We’ve got a few old cases that have been here since the beginning. The lighting is bright so we can see what we’re doing, but the carpet is a bit worn in the spots where people stand the most. We aren't a big chain with hundreds of locations. We’re just here on M G Rd. The staff knows most of the families around here. We’ve seen kids grow up and come back to buy things for their own weddings. It’s a nice feeling. We don't use any fancy sales tactics. We just show the items and tell people what they are. Sometimes we have a cup of tea with a customer while they decide. It’s a slow pace compared to the rest of the world. Alapatt Jewellers is a simple place where we value the relationships we’ve built over the years. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in.
