A. K. Industries

We are A. K. Industries, and you can find us in the village of Nanu. We are located right on the road that connects Sardhana to Meerut. Being out here in the village means we have more space for our industrial work than we would in a crowded town. The road is busy with trucks and buses all day long, which is good for our logistics. The building is a large, simple structure made of corrugated metal and brick. It gets quite loud inside when the machines are running, and the smell of oil is always in the air. We don't have an office with air conditioning or fancy furniture. My desk is just a simple wooden table in the corner of the shop floor where I keep all the papers. Most of the people who work here live in Nanu or one of the nearby villages, so it feels like a local effort. We start our shift early in the morning before the sun gets too high. It’s a lot of physical labor and we are usually quite tired by the end of the day. We eat our lunch together in the small patch of shade behind the main building. We don't have any big corporate goals or mission statements. We are just a group of people working together to make things and provide for our families. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of life here in Sardhana. We don't worry about small things like fancy paint or modern furniture as long as the work gets done.
