Komal Gupta Foundation

Out here in the village of Dantta, specifically in the Dantaramgarh tehsil, you’ll find the Komal Gupta Foundation. We are located right at Mahaveer Prasad’s place. It’s a very local operation, as you can probably tell from the address. We don’t have a high-rise office or anything like that. It’s just a simple room where we gather to talk about what’s going on in the village. Life moves a bit slower here compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. Most of us have known each other since we were kids, so there isn’t much formality. We sit on plastic chairs and drink a lot of chai while we work through our lists. The walls are painted a simple white, and we have a calendar from last year still hanging up because nobody bothered to change it. It gets dusty because of the roads nearby, so we spend a lot of time sweeping. We aren't looking for any awards or big recognition. We just want to do right by our neighbors and keep things running smoothly. If someone has a problem, they usually just walk in and tell us about it. There’s no need for an appointment or a formal letter. We just listen and see what we can do to be useful. It’s a humble setup, but it feels right for where we are. We don't need fancy things to get through the day. Everyone knows everyone around here.
