You can find Jay Ambe Traders right at 23-A, situated just behind Khandi on the Main Road in Chotila. It is a pretty straightforward spot in Surendranagar. Since we are near the main road, we get to see all the trucks and cars passing through all day long, and the dust from the road usually finds its way inside. It gets quite loud sometimes with all the horns and engines, but that is just part of being in this location. We usually have the doors open so we can see what is happening outside and catch whatever breeze there is. The workspace is simple and filled with whatever we are trading at the time, so there isn't much room for sitting around. There is no air conditioning here, so we just use the ceiling fans and hope for the best during the summer months. Being in Chotila means we are right in the thick of things. We don't bother with fancy decorations or expensive signs. The floors are just concrete and the walls have a few marks on them from moving heavy stock around for years. Most of our neighbors are also busy with their own shops and businesses, so there is a lot of activity all around us. We have a routine that we stick to every morning without fail. It involves opening up the shutters, checking the inventory, and waiting for the next load to arrive. It is practical work and nothing is too complicated about how we run things here. We just stay at our post behind Khandi and get through the day one step at a time. Sometimes people stop for directions because we are right there on the main stretch. It is a decent place to be for a business like ours, and we just keep things moving as they come.
