Ahalia Diabetes Hospital

Our hospital is out at Kanal Pirivu, at PB NO 120. It’s a bit away from the main hustle of the city, which some people find a bit of a drive, but it’s a calm area. We focus on diabetes care here, which means we see many of the same faces every month for their regular checkups. The building is functional, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. Inside, we have rows of chairs and a few posters on the walls about healthy eating. We spend a lot of time talking to people about their daily routines. The staff here is pretty small, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from filing papers to helping people find their way around. The hallway has a bit of an echo, especially when it’s quiet in the evenings. We have a small garden area near the back where people can sit while they wait for their results. It’s not perfectly manicured, but it’s a nice bit of green. Kanal Pirivu is a quiet spot, and we’ve become a part of the local landscape over time. We don’t have a big corporate team running things; it’s just us trying to keep things organized. We keep the doors open late because we know people are often coming from a long distance. It’s a practical place for a specific need.
