Vedanta Resources Plc (Hindustan Zinc Ltd)

We are set up at Zinc Nagar over in Chittorgarh. Specifically, we’re in the B-Wing of the Engineers Hostel, room FF-09. It’s a bit of a different feel than a normal office building since we are right there in the hostel area. It makes things easy though, because everyone is close by. The morning starts with the sound of people heading out to work and the dust kicking up on the roads. Rajasthan is dry, so everything has a bit of a sandy coating on it by the end of the day. We’ve got our computers set up and a few shelves for all the documents we have to keep track of. It’s a quiet enough place to work, though you can hear the birds on the roof sometimes. Most of us have been here long enough that the walk from the gate to the B-wing is just muscle memory. We don’t have a lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and find us at the desks. We spend a lot of time coordinating things between different departments. It’s a practical way to live and work in the same general area. Sometimes we have tea outside when the weather isn’t too hot. It’s a simple routine, and we don’t really need much else to keep things running. The space is small, but it works for what we do every day. We usually keep the windows closed to keep the heat out and the noise down when the shifts are changing outside.
