Jai Shri Mewar Constructions Privatelimited is up on the first floor of Meera Market. We are at C-33 in Chittorgarh. The market is a lively place to be every day. We aren't a big, fancy firm with a lot of staff in suits. Most of us wear work clothes because we are always headed to a site. We handle construction projects for people here in Chittorgarh. It’s a lot of manual labor and figuring out how to make things fit. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers, trying to get a decent price on cement or steel. The office is usually cluttered with blueprints and half-finished cups of tea. We don't have a marketing department. If we do a good job, people tell their friends, and that's how we stay busy. We’ve seen a lot of changes in how things are built, but the basics stay the same. You need good materials and people who know how to use them. Sometimes the weather in Chittorgarh makes it impossible to work, so we just sit in the office and plan for the next day. We aren't trying to sound impressive. We are just regular people who know how to build houses and shops. We take pride in seeing a finished building after months of work. It’s a tough job but it’s what we’ve been doing for years.
