Working at the Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter in Putholi is a unique experience. We are located in Chittorgarh with the pin code 312021. It gets really hot in this part of Rajasthan, especially during the long summer months when the sun is right overhead. We don't have a polished corporate office with marble floors or fancy art. Instead, it is a practical industrial site where real work happens every single day. The smelter is a huge part of the landscape around here. You can see the chimneys from a distance before you even reach the main gate. Inside the office, we just focus on the specific tasks at hand. There is a lot of dust and noise, but that is part of the life at Hindustan Zinc in Putholi. We have our small routines, like having tea together or chatting about the local news during breaks. It’s a very grounded way to live and work. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure everything runs as it should. The roads leading to the smelter are always busy with people coming from the nearby villages. It’s an honest living and we are just glad to be a part of the local scene here in Chittorgarh.
