Hindustan Zinc Ltd.

You can find us at F.F-9 in the B-Wing of Zinc Nagar on Kapasan Road. This is Chittorgarh, so it’s usually hot and a bit dry. We are up on the first floor, which gives us a bit of a view of the street below. Working for Hindustan Zinc Ltd. out of this wing means we see a lot of the same faces every day. The stairs are a bit steep, and the light in the hallway flickers sometimes, but the office itself is functional. We have our computers, our files, and a very old water cooler that makes a loud noise every ten minutes. We aren't a big headquarters or anything, just a branch office where the real day-to-day stuff gets handled. People come in with forms to sign or just to chat about the latest news from the site. We try to keep things organized, but when it’s busy, the desks get buried under stacks of folders. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't use big words or have fancy meetings. We just talk across the room to each other to solve problems. In the evenings, you can see the sun setting over the industrial buildings nearby. It’s not exactly a postcard view, but it’s home for us. We just keep the wheels turning and make sure the logs are updated before the weekend starts. It’s just how things work in this part of town.
