Hindustan Zinc Limited

We operate out of Sf-2, which is a room on the second floor of a building in Zinc Nagar. It’s right in the middle of the Chittorgarh operations for Hindustan Zinc Limited. Room No-2 isn't very large at all, so we have to be smart about how we use the floor space. We’ve got our files organized as best we can, though things get a bit messy when the workload picks up. The second-floor view gives us a decent look at the rest of the colony and the heavy trucks moving in the distance. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place to work. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room for visitors. If the door is open, you just walk right in and talk to whoever is sitting at the desk. Most of our day is spent looking at spreadsheets or talking on the radio to the guys at the plant. The heat in Rajasthan can be a real bother during the summer, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the side of the building, but we’ve got a couple of old fans that keep the air moving. It’s a quiet spot for the most part, away from the main noise of the mining work, which helps us stay focused on the small details. We’ve been in this room for a good while and know every creak in the floor. It’s just where we do our part every day to keep things moving.
