D.P.S. The Brain School

Down in Sector 4 of Gandhi Nagar in Chittorgarh, things are usually pretty steady. Our school is right in the middle of the residential area, so we get to hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day. The morning starts with parents dropping off their little ones, sometimes they're crying and sometimes they're running in before their bags are even buckled. We have a lot of colorful things on the walls that we’ve put up over the years. It’s a bit messy sometimes because kids are kids, and they leave their crayons everywhere. The building itself is just a regular house-style structure that we've adapted. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after lunch because there’s always some spilled rice or a lost water bottle. In Chittorgarh, the sun can be quite strong, so we keep the curtains pulled during the middle of the day. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we walk or take a short scooter ride to get here. It isn't a huge place, just a few rooms filled with desks and books. We don't have any fancy equipment, just the usual boards and chalk. On rainy days, the road outside gets a bit muddy and we have to remind everyone to wipe their feet. It’s just a small part of the community here. We see the same faces every day and we know which kid likes which story. It’s just how we do things here in our little corner.
