Vijayalakshmi

Vijayalakshmi is just a small spot here where P.Siva Reddy looks after everything. Most days it gets quite hot and the fans just move the air around without doing much, but we get used to it. People come and go all day long. Sometimes the street gets noisy with the traffic and the dogs barking outside the door. We don't have much fancy furniture or anything like that. Just the basics to get the work done. P.Siva Reddy sits at the main desk and keeps track of whatever needs doing. It’s been this way for a while now. We keep a few chairs for people who have to wait. There’s a tea stall just down the road that brings us chai in those small glass cups twice a day. That’s usually when we take a break and talk about what’s happening in the neighborhood. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but nobody really has time to worry about things like that. We just focus on the tasks at hand. It’s not a big operation, just a few of us trying to stay busy. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when it’s peak hours, but eventually, everything gets sorted out. We just take it one day at a time here at Vijayalakshmi. It’s simple, really. Nothing too complicated about how we run things. Just P.Siva Reddy and the rest of us making sure everything keeps moving along as it should.
