Sunil Kumar handles things here on K.T Road. It’s right in Khadi Colony. We’ve got the cement bags stacked up, mostly just getting things out to the builders around Tirupathi. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy loading done early. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in traffic because of the pilgrims headed up the hill, but that’s just how it is living here. The office isn’t anything fancy, just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of paperwork to track the orders. People come by asking about prices or when the next delivery is coming in. We keep a fan running all day, but it mostly just moves the warm air around. The walls have a bit of dust on them, which is expected when you deal with cement all day. It’s a busy spot, especially on Monday mornings when everyone wants their supplies at once. We know most of the drivers by name now. It’s not a quiet job, but it keeps us moving. If you walk down the road a bit, you can get some good tea. Most of our day is just coordination and making sure the right piles go to the right people. It’s steady work. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and everyone in the colony knows where the cement place is. We just keep our heads down and get the job done every day without much fuss.
