Our small office is right near the Cro Taxi Stand in Tirupati, so it is always a bit noisy outside with the sound of engines and drivers calling out. We have been operating from this spot for a good while now, mostly helping people figure out how to get from one temple to another or down to the station. The CRO office is just a stone's throw away, which makes it easy for travelers to find us when they are wandering around that part of town. Inside, there are a couple of wooden chairs and a desk that has seen better days. We spend a lot of time on the phone, checking where the cars are or if the traffic on the ghat road is moving okay. It gets really crowded during the festival seasons, and sometimes we barely have time to drink our tea before another group shows up. Our drivers are local men who know every pothole and shortcut in the district. We don't have a big corporate setup or anything like that, just a simple logbook where we write down the bookings by hand. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit by the door to catch a breeze. People come in looking for a way to get to the airport or just a trip around the local sights. We just tell them what is available and try to get them on their way.
