Our place, Sri Sai Arts And Crafts, is situated over in Bahadurpet in Srikalahasti. If you know the area, we are at Plot Number 11-21. Srikalahasti is a busy town, especially with all the people coming for the temple, so there is always a sense of movement in the air. We focus on various arts and crafts here, mostly things we’ve learned over many years. The workshop is always a bit messy with scraps of material and different projects half-finished on the tables. We don’t mind the mess because it shows we are busy. Some days the heat is quite a lot, and we have to slow down, but usually, we keep a steady pace. It is a family-run kind of thing, so there is always someone around to answer the door even if we are in the back working. We’ve seen Bahadurpet change quite a bit since we first started, with new buildings going up and more traffic on the roads. Still, our little corner stays pretty much the same. We don’t do much advertising; mostly it’s just people telling their friends about us. It’s a simple life, working with our hands and making things that people might want to keep in their homes. We take things one day at a time and try to keep the quality decent without making a big fuss about it. We just hope the work speaks for itself at the end of the day.
