Peddathippasamudram Women Farmerproducer Company Limited

We are located in Sc Colony, in the Pothupeta area of Boorlapalle, which is part of Peddathippasamudram in Chittoor. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say, but this is our home. We are a group of women who decided to come together to manage our farming better. Most of us have been farming our whole lives, just like our mothers did. By forming this company, we can help each other with things like buying supplies or selling what we grow. It isn't always easy because we all have families and homes to look after as well as the work in the fields. We meet up at 5-45 to talk about our plans and figure out any problems we’re having. It is a very hands-on way of doing things. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning or fancy chairs. We just sit together and work things out. Sometimes we disagree on how to do things, but we always find a way forward because we’re all in the same boat. We aren't trying to be world-class business moguls. We just want to make a decent living and make sure our community stays strong. The work is hard and the sun is hot, but doing it together makes it a bit easier. We’re just regular women from the village trying to make a go of it. It’s about the land and the crops and the people we live with.
