We are Mana Pragathi Farmer Producer Company Limited and we are located at 3-16, Muslim Street. Most of the folks around here know where we are. We started this whole thing because we were tired of doing everything on our own and getting nowhere. Farming in this area has its ups and downs, mostly depending on if the rain feels like showing up or not. We mostly stay busy with the day-to-day stuff, checking on the fields and making sure everyone has what they need for the next season. It is not a big fancy operation, just a few of us working out of the office on the street. We sit around and talk about the prices and how to get the harvest to the market without losing all our money on transport. Some days are longer than others, especially when the heat gets bad in the afternoon. We don't really have a big plan other than just helping each other out. If one of us is having a hard time with their soil, someone else usually has an idea of what might work. It is just about making a bit of progress, which is why we picked the name Mana Pragathi. People in the neighborhood drop by sometimes to ask what we are doing, and we just tell them we are trying to get a better deal for the farmers. It is a simple life, but it is ours and we just keep going.
