Ambulance - rafi & Co Ambulance Service

We are based at Door No 14-1311 on Hospital Road, right on Church Street and literally just beside the Government Hospital. Being so close to the main hospital means we are always in the middle of things. Rafi started this ambulance service a good while ago with just one van, and over time, we’ve added a few more people to the team. We spend a lot of our time sitting near the gate, keeping an eye on the road and waiting for the phone to ring. It can be a difficult job, especially when we get calls in the middle of the night or when the monsoon rains make the roads messy. The streets around Church Street are quite narrow and can get very congested, so you have to know exactly how to handle a larger vehicle to get through the crowds without any trouble. We make it a point to check our equipment every single day, ensuring the stretchers are clean and the fuel is topped off. There is a little tea stall across the street where we usually grab a quick bite between calls. We’ve gotten to know the staff at the hospital next door pretty well since we’re there so often. It’s not a fancy business with big offices; it’s just a family-run service operating right from the street. We try to be as quick as we can while still being safe for the person in the back. Most of our work comes from families in the neighborhood.
