Kiran Studio

We’ve been operating out of Fort Road for a long time. It’s a busy stretch of road, and there’s always something happening outside our door. Kiran Studio is basically our second home. We spend more hours here than anywhere else. It’s a simple setup with cameras, lights, and backdrops. We didn't go for anything too modern because we like the way things have always been done. People come in for photos, whether it’s for a document or something a bit more personal. We’ve seen kids grow up through the photos we’ve taken over the years. It’s a bit strange to think about how much time has passed since we first opened on Fort Road. The walls are covered with bits and pieces of our work, mostly things we liked or forgot to take down. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building, but we have a fan that does its best. We don’t use any fancy sales talk here. We just tell people to sit still and look at the lens. It’s practical, direct work. We like the routine of it. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks through that door. Sometimes it’s a whole family, other times just someone needing a quick print. We just keep the lights on and the gear ready for whoever needs us next. It is a humble living but we enjoy being part of the community here.
