THIPPERUDRASWAMY WEAVERS PRODUCER COMPANY LIMITED

We are based in the Kurubara Sangada Complex on Chitradurga Road. This is a producer company for weavers. We aren't a big industrial factory. It's more of a collective of people who know how to weave. We work out of this complex and try to get the products out to the market. Chitradurga Road is always busy with trucks and buses passing by. Our office is simple. We have a few cupboards for records and some space to store the woven goods. It's not a polished corporate environment. You'll often find people sitting around discussing the latest patterns or the price of yarn. We deal with the day-to-day problems of small-scale production. Sometimes the supply of raw materials is short, or the weather makes it hard to dry the dyed threads. We just manage as best as we can. We've been part of this complex for a good while. The weavers are local people from around here. We don't have a marketing department. Our work speaks for itself, really. It’s hard, physical labor a lot of the time. We just want to make sure the weavers get a fair shake and that the business stays afloat. It’s a straightforward operation. We open up early and stay late until the work is done. That's just how we do things on Chitradurga Road. There is always someone here checking the looms or counting the finished stock. It's a constant cycle of work that never really stops for us.
