Red Trailer Company

Our shop is located at number 45 in Doddabathi, which sits right on the outskirts of Davanagere. Red Trailer Company isn't some huge, fancy factory, just a place where a few of us put together and fix trailers for the local drivers. You can see the metal frames and some of the finished work sitting out in the yard from the main road as you drive by. We spend most of our time welding, grinding, and painting the steel. There’s almost always a bit of red paint on someone’s hands or clothes by the end of the day. Davanagere is a good spot for this kind of work because there’s always so much transport moving through the state. Farmers and long-haul truck drivers often stop by when they need a quick repair or a new hitch welded on. It’s a bit noisy at the shop with all the hammering and the constant hiss of the welding torch. We don't have a receptionist or an office person, so if you come by, you’ll probably have to look around for one of us under a trailer or working at the back. We’ve been here in Doddabathi for many years now. The weather here can get very dry and dusty, which is actually pretty good for the paint drying but it makes the outdoor work a bit rough on the lungs. We keep things informal and relaxed around here. There’s no uniform, just old work clothes that are meant to get dirty. We aren't looking to become some giant corporation; we just like building things.
