Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Co. Ltd.

We are based over at the Beverages Division on K.M. Road. It is a busy stretch of road with a lot of trucks and vans going past all the time. Our daily routine involves a lot of lifting and moving. We get the raw beans in, and they have to be handled just right. The warehouse can get quite hot in the middle of the day, so we try to get the heavy stuff done early in the morning. We have a crew of guys who have been doing this for years. They know the sound of the machines and can tell if something is off just by listening. There is always a layer of fine dust from the beans on everything, no matter how much we clean. We use old-fashioned clipboards to keep track of what is coming and going. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning in every room. We have some fans that blow the air around, and that's about it. People come and go throughout the day, mostly delivery drivers or people checking on shipments. We focus on the trading part of things, making sure the beans get where they need to go. It is a lot of logistics and manual labor. We just keep our heads down and do the work until the sun goes down.
