B.K.L.Walawalkar Hospital Diagnostic & Research Centre

Our facility is located out in Kasarwadi, Sawarde, which is part of the Chiplun taluka in Ratnagiri district. It is a large site compared to the small clinics you see in the town centers. Because we are a bit further out, there is more space around the buildings, and it can get quite green during the monsoon months. The diagnostic and research side means we have various labs and testing areas spread across the floors. You will see technicians moving between the research wing and the patient areas quite often. People come from all over the district because it is one of the main places for detailed testing in this part of Maharashtra. The walk from the main gate to the diagnostic center takes a few minutes. It feels a bit like a small campus rather than just one building. Inside, the halls are wide, and we have a lot of signage to help people find where they need to go for blood tests or imaging. The mornings are usually the loudest because that is when most of the samples are collected and people arrive for their checkups. It stays pretty steady until the afternoon when the heat kicks in. We have staff who live nearby and some who travel from Chiplun every day. It is a big operation to keep running, especially with the research equipment needing constant monitoring and the labs staying busy with all the samples coming in.
