Down in Ganeshnagar, specifically at 5/74/6B, you’ll find our little setup. Chintal is a crowded area, so things are always a bit tight around the shop. We’ve been operating K R Patel Co from this location for a while, and the neighborhood has changed a lot since we first started out. You can hear the sounds of the street from inside, mostly just traffic and people going about their business. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of stuff and a couple of us trying to keep track of it all. We don’t have a big front desk or a waiting area because we’re usually too busy in the back. There’s a specific way we do things here, not because it’s a rule, but just because it’s how we’ve always done it. It gets a bit dusty in the afternoons when the wind picks up, so we spend a decent amount of time just wiping things down. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused, especially during the long stretches where the work feels repetitive. It isn't the kind of place you see in a magazine. It’s a working building with scratched floors and old shelves. We take the orders, we pack the goods, and we wait for the next day to start. It is a very practical way to spend the day. Most of our neighbors are doing the same thing, just trying to keep their businesses running through the year despite whatever challenges come up.
