Vijay Traders

Our business, Vijay Traders, is located at 5/25 Vijaya Puram on 1st Street, right by the Old Bus Stand in Villupuram. Being inside the Rice Mandi means there is never a dull moment. We work as wholesale merchants, so we deal with a lot of volume every single day. The shop is basically a big warehouse space where bags of rice are stacked nearly to the roof. It can be a bit tight to move around in there, but we have a system that works. Trucks are always pulling up early in the morning to unload new stock or pick up orders for the local groceries. Since we are so close to the bus stand, there is always a lot of noise and people moving about outside. We don't have a fancy storefront with glass doors. It is just a practical place to store and sell grain. We have been in Villupuram for a long time, so we have a good idea of what the local market needs. We don't spend money on ads or clever slogans because our customers know where we are and what we have. The heat in the Mandi can be quite something, so our ceiling fans are almost always on full speed. We spend our time talking to the drivers and keeping our books in order. It is a basic business but it keeps us busy from morning till night.
