Sugandha Bar

Sugandha Bar sits in the Pattanshetti Building. It is an old structure on Old PB Road in Nipani. This part of Belgaum - 591237 feels a bit slower than the main city but the road stays busy with trucks and buses. We are near the Belgaum Naka, so you get all kinds of people passing through. The bar is a simple place where people come after a long day of work. The building itself has seen many years. The walls are thick and it stays relatively cool inside even when the sun is beating down on the asphalt outside. We start the day by opening up the shutters and letting some air in. There is always a bit of cleaning to do from the night before. You can hear the vehicles gear down as they approach the Naka. It’s a familiar sound that marks the passing of the hours. We don’t change much around here. Things stay the same way they have been for a long time. The locals know where we are. It’s just a spot on the road to take a load off. Life in Nipani has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of that daily cycle. We keep the stools lined up and the lights low. It is not about being flashy.
