Behr India Limited

Up here in Chand Shiradwad, which is in the Chikodi area of Belgaum, we have the Behr India Limited site. It’s a different vibe being in Karnataka. The weather can be a bit more manageable than the coast, but when the monsoon hits, everything gets damp. Our address is right in the middle of the village area basically. We’ve got our routine down. The workers come in, the gates open, and the sound of the equipment starts up for the day. We aren't a massive corporate headquarters; it feels more like a local shop where everyone knows each other’s business. We handle a lot of metal and components. There’s a certain way things have to be done, and we’ve been doing it that way for a long time. The floor is usually covered in scrap bits that need to be swept up at the end of the day. We don't have a lot of fancy brochures or anything. Most people find us because they need what we make. It’s a lot of practical, everyday engineering work. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out or use the generators. It’s just part of living and working in dist Belgaum. We keep our heads down and try to stay on schedule. 591214 is where we spend most of our lives, really. It’s just a place where things get made and people work hard together.
