If you are looking for Muneer Hardware, we are up on the first floor of the Sirvase Mullegowda Building. Being on MG Road means there is always noise from the street below, especially since we are near Chickmagaluru. The stairs are a bit narrow, so carrying heavy crates of nails or tools up and down can be a bit of a workout every morning. We’ve got shelves packed with all sorts of things, from basic hammers to specific plumbing bits that have been sitting there for a while. It’s a bit crowded in here, but we usually know exactly where everything is kept. Sometimes a customer comes in asking for something we haven't seen in years, and we have to go hunting through the back corner where the dust settles. It’s mostly just us helping out whoever walks in. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It's just a regular hardware shop where things are stacked high. The building itself is an older one, which gives the place a bit of character, I suppose. On rainy days, the sound on the roof is quite loud, making it hard to hear the phone. We spend a lot of time just talking to locals about their home repairs. It’s not a complicated life. We open up early, sweep the floor, and wait for the first person who needs a spare key or a bag of cement. The traffic on MG Road never really seems to stop.
