Salgare Children Hospital

Up in Bhagyalaxmi Nagar, you’ll find Salgare Children Hospital. It’s right there in Chikodi. Since it’s a kids' place, there is always some noise. If it isn’t a baby crying, it’s a toddler running down the hall or someone playing with a loud toy in the waiting room. We have some colorful stickers on the walls to make it look a bit less like a hospital, but they’re starting to peel at the edges. The parents usually look pretty tired when they come in. We understand that. Chikodi is a smaller place, so we end up knowing most of the families who live nearby. It’s not a huge facility, but we have enough rooms to handle the daily rush. The floor is tiled and we spend a lot of time mopping it because kids spill things or track in dirt from the street. Our desks are covered in pens and folders and the occasional stray pacifier someone left behind. We don’t have a big corporate board of directors, just a few of us making sure things run right. The weather in Chikodi can be a bit dry, so we keep the water cooler filled up. It’s a busy little spot and we do our best to stay organized even when three kids are screaming at once. It’s just the way a children’s hospital goes. We like it here in Bhagyalaxmi Nagar.
