This is a bit of a rural setting, away from the big city crowds. We focus on crushing stones and making M-sand, which is something every builder around here seems to need these days. The air is different out here, but since we are a crushing unit, there is always some dust in the air. We’ve got our machinery set up on the land and it stays busy. It is a family-run feel even if we are a private limited company. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a few local guys who know how to handle the equipment. Chikmagalur is famous for coffee, but we are in the business of construction materials. The hills are nearby, and the roads can be a bit rough for the heavy trucks, but we make it work. Most of our time is spent monitoring the machines and making sure the sand quality is what the local contractors expect. It’s hard work, and the days are long, especially when we have a big order to finish. We just take it day by day, making sure the unit is running right and the loaders are busy. The weather changes fast in these hills, so we always have to watch the clouds while we work because rain changes everything for sand.
