You can find us right across from the Sargod Rice Mill here in Chickmanglur. It’s a landmark everyone knows, so we're easy to spot. We mostly handle things related to cars and bikes. If something is broken or needs a replacement part, that’s where we come in. The shop is usually full of tools and various bits of machinery scattered around. It’s a bit of a messy place, but we know where everything is. People stop by while they're out running errands near the mill. We do a lot of routine maintenance like fixing brakes or tuning up engines that haven't been running right. The air usually smells like motor oil and old tires. We’ve seen all kinds of vehicles roll through here over the years. Some are practically falling apart and others just need a bit of a polish. Working in Chickmanglur means we see a lot of the same faces, which is nice. We don’t do anything too fancy, just the basic mechanical stuff that keeps people moving from one place to another. Sometimes we stay late if a job turns out to be trickier than we thought. It’s hard work and it gets hot in the summer, but we’re used to it. We just take things one car at a time. It’s a decent way to make a living and we like being part of the neighborhood. The mill next door is always busy, which keeps the whole road lively throughout the day. We’ve been here a long time now.
